This weekend I took some time to relax and headed down to one of my favorite places - Barnes and Nobles. I was browsing through my preferred section – Business Motivation – which is right by the Investing section.

I found a real interesting book by Robert Shemin titled “How Come That Idiot’s Rich and I’m Not?” The title caught my attention right away so I began reading it (still in the Business section)…

I’m always watching out for who else hovers in this section because I seem to “accidentally” run into someone who thinks they know me!

It’s the gutsy pitch of the Amway / Quickstar IBO.

Yesterday was NO exception. So I was reading my book, happily relaxing and sucking in some gold nuggets when another guy (probably in his thirties) picked up a book right near me and 5 seconds later I heard – “Excuse me, are you in management?” I looked up and immediately saw the logo on his shirt which was “Nutrilite Team”.

I felt sorry for this particular IBO because he was doing exactly what was taught to him - maybe even the same way he was introduced to Quickstar.

So I heard him out in hopes of returning a ‘new way of thinking’ to him. Unfortunately, Quickstar / Amway reps are SO single minded (which can be a good trait to have) that nothing sank in for him…

Probably because he was so interested in getting his message across to me – it seemed like every time I said something, a reply was returned with.. “We have this product that can help you out…”

It reminds me of someone that I used to know in Amway about 10 years ago – if you mentioned toothpaste they would say “Amway has toothpaste!”…

Are you building your business like this? Are you “bumping” into people at the bookstore in hopes of gaining a business partner?

This is probably the most ballsy way to build your business – I have to admit though – this guy had guts and courage.

When I first started in this industry I did attempt the three foot rule. I was completely out of my comfort zone as this was something out of my personality type….

There is an easier way – and fortunately I found Magnetic Sponsoring and started to apply the strategies taught in the Magnetic Sponsoring Book and the rest changed… I only speak with prospects who are truly interested in what I have to offer. It makes for rejection free sponsoring!

Take the free 7 day video bootcamp – it’s what DRASTICALLY changed the course for me! Click on the banner here…

You may have seen Mike Dillard’s ads everywhere – there is a reason…. His stuff works!

Good Post Seth! People like that are the reason, I never really gave MLM a try in the past. I knew I didn’t want to recruit people that way. Discovering Magnetic Sponsoring really was a great thing for me.

I know I can do a whole lot better attracting the right kind of people to me instead of chasing everyone in the world. And with the internet, it is a whole lot easier.

Just set up your marketing funnel and start promoting it. Let people contact you, who want to talk to you.

That is easy in my book!

Ha ha! I’m like that too before I ran into the attraction marketing model :)
Your posting brings back some really awkward memories of tricks like these that I have used in my past 7 years in network marketing.

Luckily all that has changed for me since I have utilized internet network marketing techniques to attract prospects online :)

    Good Post Seth -

The 3 foot rule is scarey. I used to be really good at it but now never use it. Using Attraction Marketing is so much better and a lot better on the cash flow as well.

It’s Sunday morning, 09/07/08 in West “By God” Virginia, and I just “synchronistically stumbled” on your YouTube of the 10/10 Visualization method. I like it, and I like you. I hereby commit to doing this exercise each day for the next 30 days. I would like to let you know how things are going BEFORE calling you on the 31st day . . . we’ll see how that goes. If you have time for a “go-go-go” encouraging email back to me, that would be cool. Whether or not you do,THANK YOU for this great exercise.
