Today marks the countdown for the last 100 days of 2008. It’s crazy to think that this year will be over in a short 100 days. I personally have a lot to accomplish over the next 100 days and in realizing that - I’ve decided to take a public stand.
The last time I did a public challenge for business was in May of 2007.
In fact, I was probably one of the first to take a public 90 day challenge. It spread like wildfire and now people are selling courses that cost up to $997 to be apart of a structure 90 day challenge.
Here’s a little honesty.
I was pretty disappointed in myself because back in mid 2007 I was pursuing the idea of a 90 day challenge community and product, yet got distracted by a few slick marketing systems. I pursued the short-term success and didn’t plan for the future.
Having a short term vision crippled my ability to have a thriving LONG TERM business. Missed opportunity? Maybe, maybe not…
So here I am today on September 23rd declaring to you, my new 100 day challenge.
I’ve sat down and mapped out exactly what I’m going to do to achieve results in my life - every aspect. I’m talking about business, relationships, finances, fitness, spirituality, and fun.
Alot of my intentions are private matters, however I will let you in on one that you might enjoy watching.
I have a blog, ProBusinessReview.com. This site has been quietly and unexpectedly generating some healthy affiliate commission for me.
The amazing thing is that I haven’t done much with it. This site has the potential to be EVERYTHING for me - as far as my online business is concerned:
- Lead Generation
- Affiliate Commissions
- Personal Branding & Credibility
- Massive Search Engine exposure
- ect
And here’s the most exciting part about the last 100 days of 2008. I’ll be using this site as a catalyst for my business success.
It’s time to follow the process I had laid out when I first purchased the domain name earlier this year - and that is to be an Authority Site in the realm of home based business opportunity reviews. There are so many cheesy sites in the “review” market - in fact I haven’t really seen that matches my vision.
So where do we go from here?
I’ve got the vision - now it’s time to switch from my “vision mindset” over to the “process mindset“. Andy Jenkins wrote an amazing article in the first edition of “The Net Effect” regarding mindset.
In a nutshell - there are no fancy, super slick ways to success. It takes consistent effort in the simple things (like content creation, generating backlinks, and leveraging social media).
I may report back here every once in a while - but mainly you’ll see how my the last 100 days of 2008 are going by following my home business reviews site at ProBusinessReview.com
(it’s currently being overhauled with a really neat theme and layout)
This will be my second 100 day challenge. The first one went “ok”. I learned a ton from the process and would like to share a few tips on how to have an amazing time.
Here are 3 tips that you can use to make the last 100 days the most successful:
1. No Short Cuts
Some of the work that is involved in operating a successful internet business is, well, boring. Writing an article, creating content, creating & uploading videos, ect. There not a lot of magic in those things. HOWEVER, these are the things that over a period of consistent time - get you results.
There always seems to be a new fancy piece of software, or a new method to siphen traffic - but one thing is for sure - success leaves clues. All long term and sustainable online businesses have things in common — the basics. Remember, there are no shortcuts around the basic success principles.
2. Set Clear Reachable Goals
I’m a dreamer, a visionary, and an optimist. I set big goals. Some I meet, some I don’t. If you’re a dreamer, visionary, and optimist like me it can be difficult to find a balance in this world.
Can you make an acorn an oak tree in 100 days?
Things take time. make sure you have set a true stretch goal.
Let’s say you want to increase your optin list by 5000 reader over the next 100 days. Take 5,000 and divide it by 100. You’ll need 50 subscribers per day on average to attain your goal. (of course there are strategies like JV’s that could get you that in a heart beat) Make sure to set your goal to a number that will stretch you - but is attainable.
3. Keep Accountable
It’s easy to say you’re going to achieve something extraordinary. You can set big audacious goals. But WHO is going to make sure that you
hold yourself accountable to the process (Process Mindset).
When I used to fight Muay Thai / Kickboxing, my friend Jeremy and my brother Dave were with me to hold me accountable. They made sure that I was showing up everyday at the gym. They made sure that I was putting forth my best effort.
No difference in business - make sure that you have SOMEONE that will check in with you.
So today starts the 100 Day Countdown. I’ve set my intentions and mapped out my strategy. It’s time to stick to the process and see my vision come to fruition… It’s time to roll up the sleeves and get to work!
Over the next 100 days watch my home business review site - ProBusinessReviews.com flourish - that’s how you’ll know that I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing.
